Forty feet by twenty, three bedrooms, sleeping six, with a proper bath in the main bathroom.

The space

Swift build the Edmonton as a twin unit, which is why the open end reads as a room rather than a corridor. An island with a breakfast bar, a table that seats six, and the fire facing the sofas instead of tucked into a corner. A walkthrough dressing area leads off the main bedroom.

The scheme is a beach cottage palette of blues, whites and greys, warmed by a 2kW Reo stove against panelled walls, with Bluetooth audio into the lounge ceiling speakers. A king size lift-up bed and a Duvalay Alba-Ortho mattress in the main bedroom, twin beds in the two rooms behind. Full size dishwasher, integrated fridge freezer and microwave, and a utility room off the hall housing the boiler and a freestanding washer dryer. Built to BS3632 residential specification, with 30kW gas combi-boiler central heating and hot water for the ten-month season.

Ownership, included

The price on the lodge is the price you pay: sited, fully connected and decked, with the essentials already taken care of.

The setting

A small, privately held park on the Glamorgan coast. Twenty-five lodges, eighty pitches, set in countryside between Royal Porthcawl, Pyle & Kenfig and the Grove. Quiet by design. Rest Bay is a few minutes from the gate, and the harbour and town two miles south. Cardiff, forty-five minutes. The rest of the world, a little further out.
